Styrax tonkinesis

Common Name:  Oil of benzoin- Benzoin is extracted from the bark of Styrax Tonkinesis tree. Also called gum benzoin or gum benjamin.

Usage:   Recommended uses include that of a mental stimulant, relieves red chapped and itchy skin. Heals cuts and skin breaks. Relieves congestion and is used to treat colds, coughs and bronchitis. Also used as a perfume fixative and in incense making.  Blends nicely with rose.  Emotionally uplifting and stress relieving.  Benzoin has been used for a long time in the middle east in both perfumes and incense.

Precautions:   Can be skin sensitizing and excessive use may cause drowsiness.

Aroma:  Vanilla-like, warm, sweet balsamic odor
