Common Name:

Elettaria cardamom is also known as green cardamom, true cardamom.

Amomum cardamom is known as Black Cardamom, Brown Cardamom, or Siamese Cardamom and is distributed mainly in Australia and Asia. The black is more highly regarded than the green.

Usage:  Recommended for digestive problems and also helps to ease coughs and colds. You will find cardamom seeds used in cookies and herbal teas.  Frequently used in Indian cooking as the herb is native to Southeast Asia and India. Green cardamom is used to treat tooth infections, gum inflammation and throat problems in southern Asia.
