Common Name: The unripe buds from the flowering clove tree are used for cooking as well as to treat other ailments. A very potent antiseptic, anti-fungal and pain reliever. Clove's power lies in its ingredient Eugenol which has the power to numb tooth ache pain and stop infection. The leaves from the clove tree contain almost pure Eugenol and should not be used.
Usage: Used widely in dental preparations, liniments for muscle and arthritis pain. When diffused(highly diluted) or sniffed also reduces drowsiness, assists in memory, increases circulation and can relieve depression. Also used as a spice in cooking.
Precautions:A very powerful oil that has useful properties but still needs to be repected and used with care. Avoid during pregnancy. When used in a cream or oil to massage for arthritis the dilution should be well below 1%. Eye, nose and throat irritant as well as skin irritant.
