Cypress

Cupressus sempervirens

Common Name:  Cypress oil is distilled from the leaves and twigs of the tree.

Usage:   A component in many men's perfumes and aftershaves. Increases circulation and bloodflow when massaged or used in a compress. Can be used in vapor therapy to treat laryngitis, uncontrollable coughing or to relieve sinus pressure and congestion.

     May be used to treat oily skin and acne when a few drops are added to a face preparation or cleansing rinse.

     When diffused Cypress oil can increase alertness and mental energy, reducing drowsiness and calming irritability. It also leaves a fresh clean outdoor woodsy scent to a room. Great for around Christmas time.

Aroma:  similar to pine but stronger, fresh and woody and much deeper
